If I know you "in real life", even if it's through a fandom (ie we've communicated somewhere outside of eLJay, such as over the cellular telephone machine or perhaps at a show!), you can probably skip this post.
In the next week or so, I think I'm going to be paring down a lot of my communities, and my f-list in general. It's not like I don't like people, you're all awesome in your own individual ways, but I know don't make the effort I once did to actually READ everyone's journals. I have waaaaaaaay too many filters now and it's getting impossible to read everything, much less always comment, and it just doesn't seem fair to expect others to comment to my infrequent posts when I hardly return the favour.
I know I haven't been terribly active in my TV fandoms, much less do I talk about a lot of them anymore... although the strike and the post-strike fallout has something to do with that, natch. This journal has slowly become approximately 40% real-life and 50% bandom (mostly filtered to the appropriate people, but not always) and the rest of that 10% is other things I still love but am not so much involved in, like other bands (Hanson included), movies, hobbies (I have them!) and other nerdistry.
Anyway, if you agree that we don't really talk or don't have much in common anymore (old fandoms, etc), please don't feel guilty about removing me from your flist! I like you all but it doesn't necessarily mean we, you know, have time to read.
Happy cheery "out with the old!" defriending amnesty starts now.
And please, don't feel hurt or sad or whatever if I defriend. It's not like I'm deFRIENDing you, I just don't necessarily feel like I've gotten to know you well enough in the time that we've been friends, or that we share enough of the same interests anymore to follow your day-to-day lives.
SERIOUS BUSINESS, ETC.
